Samsung Dryer Timer Jumps To 1 Minute (2023 Fixes!)

  • Facebook
  • X (Twitter)
  • LinkedIn
  • More

Have you been carrying out a few loads of laundry lately and the timer of your Samsung dryer seems to jump to 1 minutes during a cycle?

You are actually not the only one experiencing this problem, there are several other people struggling with this also.

This is the exact reason why we decided to pull together a detailed guide which will help you solve this issue and pull you out of the doldrums.

Meanwhile, the situation of your dryer might occur whereas it begins a cycle and perhaps runs for a few minutes before it eventually changes to 1 minute, then goes into cooling mode before shutting off.

For some other diagnosis, the dryer might not stop after the timer has reached 1 minute.

Regardless of what you are currently experiencing with your dryer, this extensive guide ahead will definitely put you through.

Sounds like you’re ready for the journey, let’s get started!!

We have compiled some certain causes which could be hindering your dryer from functioning properly.

Without a doubt, if this situation occurs, it simply implies that the dry cycles have been cut short and aren’t actually getting your clothes dry.

Here are some basic reasons why your samsung dryer keeps going to 1 minute while being in a cycle.

  • The moisture sensor is probably coated or blocked by clothes in the dryer
  • Clogs are present in the lint filter
  • Restrictions in the exhaust vent system
  • Damaged wire harness connections
  • The thermistor is faulty or damaged
  • A damaged electronic control board

All samsung dryers usually comes with a moisture sensor Irrespective of the model of samsung dryer you are using.

Whether it is a DV42H5000EW/A3 model, DV45H7000EW/A2 model, DV339AEG/XAC model or any other models.

Moisture sensor is a two parallel metal strips that are literally responsible for measuring the level of moisture in your dryer.

The moisture sensor could be the reason why your dryer is jumping to 1 minute during a cycle.

If the sensor is covered by a sheet, beddings or blankets in the dryer it definitely won’t be able to function properly.

The dry cycles would be cut short if the moisture sensor inside of your dryer is not clean enough. You probably need to clean the moisture sensor in your dryer.

As time goes on while using your dryer, the lint filter starts to get filled with clogs which is a sign of an upcoming problem.

The dryer lint filter or lint trap plays a major role in the normal functioning of your dryer as it is another reason why you might be experiencing this problem.

There are literally some step-by-step procedures you need to follow if the lint trap of your dryer is filed with clogs or excessive lints.

Another good reason is that there might be some residual lint in the vent pipe which could be causing a restriction and not allowing humid air via the exhaust duct.

It is important for dryers to exhaust or vent hot air to the outside of the house and this can only be carried out via the dryer vent pipe.

If this pipe is restricted, your dryer could start to malfunction and this is another vital reason why you are having a problem with the timer.

Don’t worry, I’ll be highlighting all the necessary tips to fix all these in no time.

Perhaps the wire harness connections which can be located between the thermistor and the electronic control board gets damaged, it could actually affect the dryer timer and force it to malfunction.

However, this is in direct connection with the control panel and the thermistor. If any of the thermistor or electronic control panel gets damaged the dryer timer might get affected and not function properly.

Now that you are fully aware of the reasons why the timer of your dryer could be malfunctioning, you definitely need a few procedures that will obviously help you fix the problem and eventually get the appliance to work perfectly again.

Here are a few things you should do if your samsung dryer goes to 1 minute after a cycle.

However, If you are also experiencing related problems with the timer which is similar to this. Try out the following methods below.

I will be taking this accordingly in line with the things I think you should do gradually.

First and foremost, check if the moisture sensor is dry, you will find the moisture sensor inside the dryer, you ought to be able to recognize it as two parallel metal strips sticking together openly.

You probably need to clean the moisture sensors in your dryer using a soft fabric with drops of water and soap.

Use the fabric to wipe the sensor bars by cleaning the two curved metal bars inside the dryer which is close to the lint filter housing.

Finally, clean it with a dry towel in order to ensure there is no sign of moisture again. You can also clean the moisture sensor with a fine sandpaper and alcohol.

In other words, the moisture sensor can also be replaced if it is damaged.

With the help of a vacuum cleaner, you should be able to do this. Ensure that these lints are vacuumed frequently.

If you notice that the vent system is restricted or blocked by residual lints, you also need a vacuum to clean the lints in the vent pipe.

Especially if you connected the dryer to a venting system that was previously installed.

There might be some loose wires that you didn’t notice, inspect the dryer for these wires and make you reconnect them after finding it.

You should attempt to replace the thermistor if the wire harness is okay. First and foremost, unplug the dryer from the wall or socket. You need to measure the thermistor resistance using a multimeter.

The measurements should be around 10,000 ohms of resistance which is accurate at room temperature.

Note that it is only when the resistance is off that you only need to change and replace the thermistor.

You should only replace the electronic control board. Perhaps both the thermistor resistance and the wire harness are not faulty.

Lastly, you need to ensure that your dryer’s motor is free from potential clogs or obstructions.

Recommended Reading: Can't disconnect gas line from dryer

The reason why your dryer goes from 40 minutes to 1 minutes is caused by a blocked or dirty moisture sensor. In other words, it could be due to an overheating of the motor in the appliance.

Perhaps your samsung dryer seems to be shutting off after a few minutes, the reasons for this includes a damaged door latch or switch, the dryer motor is overheating, broken or worn out drum belt, the moisture sensor wire is oxidized or issues with the pulley and tension roller.

Although the first suspect shouId be your dryer’s motor, it’s one of the most common causes of this problem if it’s overheating.

Try inspecting and replacing any faulty component and your dryer should be back to normal.

If your samsung dryer timer isn’t working, it’s either the timer is stuck or won’t shut off at all.

The first thing you should check is the dryer motor, it’s the main obvious culprit before moving forward to inspect the control panel and cycling thermostat.

Without a doubt, I hope you were able to grab a quick fix to solve your dryer problem.

If you are experiencing situations whereby your samsung dryer timer goes to 1 minute, Just ensure that you try some other solutions if the previous ones don’t work. Thanks for reading.

LG Washer Bedding Cycle: Effortless Bedding Cleaning!

  • Facebook
  • X (Twitter)
  • LinkedIn
  • More

Lately, I’ve been noticing that some of my bulky laundry doesn’t get washed properly.

Especially those thick and bulky items clothings. Some other days, there would be dry spots in the middle of the blankets at the end of the cycle.

I wondered what could actually be the problem, then I decided to do some research.

I found out that the LG washing machine bedding cycle can actually eliminate this problem.

The bedding cycle is specifically designed to help wash bulky items like my beddings and put the washer in optimal performance.

Continue reading to find out other things I discovered and how to use the LG bedding cycle.

Just like other wash cycles like the sanitary cycle or perhaps  cycle.

The bedding cycle is a cycle that is designed to wash huge linens and bulky laundry items which can not be easily handled by a normal wash cycle.

This cycle helps to handle heavy-duty and thorough wash of larger items, so you don’t have to worry about having a dry spot at the end of a cycle.

Additionally, you can also customize the setting for your specific needs like steam, soak and extra rinse.

This other wash cycle works pretty well with the bedding cycle and you can use them at the same time.

This cycle uses a higher amount of water alongside warm temperature compared to a normal wash cycle.

It works by filling your washer with enough water in order to wet down the load. Then it fills with higher water levels before initiating the cycle.

Here’s how to use the bedding cycle below.

  • Step 1: Turn on your washing machine by pressing the power button.
  • Step 2: Rotate the selector knob so that it points to “bedding cycle”.
  • Step 3: Select the required spin speed, then click on the start button to begin to cycle.

Ensure that you’re using the recommended high efficiency detergent by the manufacturer. Also use the recommended amount only.

Pay attention to this section. Some people usually make the mistake of using this cycle for any clothing fabric.

You should do that! The bedding cycle is designed for washing large and bulky items.

So, I recommend using the cycle only when you want to wash the following items below.

  • Blankets
  • Bed sheets
  • Bed linens
  • Sleeping bags
  • Small comforters
  • Jackets and small rugs
  • Pillows and mattress covers

It’ll take much more water, detergent and time to use the bedding and sheets cycle.

The cycle time is usually about 50 minutes to 2 hours and the washer uses a warm water temperature during this time.

Note that the cycle time might differ if you’re using a different brand or model.

No, they’re totally different. The bedding wash cycle is used for large pieces of fabrics while a heavy duty wash cycle helps to handle heavily soiled items.

However, if your washing machine doesn’t have a bedding and sheets cycle – you should consider using the heavy duty or bulky cycle as an alternative.

The washing machine bedding cycle is used for any large pieces of fabric like blanket, bed sheets and comforters.

Is your kenmore washer not spinning clothes dry? There are other numerous people experiencing this same issue and I can assure you that you’ll get a valid answer to your problem in this article below.

Some of the main reasons why your kenmore washing machine isn’t spinning clothes dry is due to the use of excessive detergents, unbalanced loads, clogged drain hose, broken suspension springs or shock absorbers, faulty drive belt, lid motor coupling, damaged lid switch and many more.

In this article, we’ll be discussing the causes of this issue and an extensive guide on how to easily fix them in no time.

Let’s dive into it!

Irrespective of whether you are using a top load or a front load type of washing machine, the spinning problem is generally common to both and we’ll be highlighting the top reasons and fixes in this particular section.

Here are the list of reasons why your kenmore washer won’t spin clothes dry:

Using too much of detergents creates a surplus of suds in your washing machine and can result in the wear down of the appliance. It also prevents the garment from rubbing against one another which is why your clothes are coming out dripping wet.

Also, you might be using some non-high efficiency detergents which is obviously resulting in the ineffective spinning of your washer.

What you need to do?

You need to be cautious of the amount and type of detergent you use for your kenmore washing machine.

It’s recommended that you use only suitable detergents according to the owner’s manual.

Although it might seem counterintuitive, but you should avoid using too much detergents in your laundry.

Note that the more detergent you use to a certain extent, the more dirtier your clothes will be and indirectly lead to spinning issues.

If there’s already too much of detergents in your washer, you can run the cleaning cycle by pressing the “Cycle” button a few times on your kenmore washer.

One of the components that might be affected if your washer won’t spin-dry correctly is the Lid switch.

A damaged lid switch will prevent the appliance from spinning if the door isn’t getting closed properly. Also, the spin cycle definitely won’t start without locking the door

How do you know if the lid switch is faulty? You can easily detect this by reading the continuity of the lid switch.

What you need to do?

To fix this, simply remove/unmount the lid switch and then proceed to use a multimeter to test the continuity.

We recommend setting your multimeter to the lowest ohms of resistance for an effective and accurate results.

If you detected no continuity on the lid lock switch, it definitely means it’s broken. Then you need to replace that specific component.

If your kenmore washer isn’t spinning clothes dry, it could be because there is too heavy loads in it or the little loads you have aren’t balanced.

Whenever unbalanced or heavy loads situation occurs, it prevents your washing machine from achieving proper spin speeds which is why your clothes still looks wet after completing a cycle.

What you need to do?

Ensure that the loads in the washer are evenly distributed in order to prevent spinning issues. Avoid putting all your bulky laundry inside the drum at the same time.

If you are using a front load kenmore washer, only pile your clothes up high but they shouldn’t pass the last row of holes at the front.

Depending on the size or weight of the trapped items in your washing machine drum, it can literally affect your washer.

If clothes are getting stuck or objects getting trapped, it could be part of the reasons why your kenmore washer won’t spin dry as it should.

But how exactly do these objects get trapped in your washing machine, it gets inside as a result of the foreign objects you left behind in your trouser’s pockets or other clothes and materials.

What you need to do?

In order to fix this, here are some procedures you need to take:

  • Empty your washing machine drum by removing all the clothes inside in order to easily get access to the interior. Check the drum carefully for any foreign objects that might be making it to malfunction.
  • You can also use a flashlight to help you find some of these tiny objects easily. Once you find them, use a pair of pliers or tweezers to get them out without scratching the inner of your drum.
  • If you have any clothes that are getting stuck because they have lots of buttons attached to them or due to their texture for instance, you should take them out and wash them separately afterwards.

Your kenmore washing machine should start spinning properly after doing this.

Knowing how to set the correct spin settings is very important if you want to your washer to spin dry properly.

Note that if you have selected an incorrect spin dry settings, your washer might not spin-dry your clothes properly which could leave them wet and take longer time to dry.

What you need to do?

Make sure you’re choosing the correct settings depending on the type of clothes you are washing and the weight of the load.

For delicate and light-weight clothes, you should set a spin speed around 400 – 600 RPM while medium-weight clothes should be around 800 – 1000 RPM.

Heavier fabrics like jeans or towels should be a little bit higher around 1200 – 1400 spin speed.

However, in general, note all kenmore washing machine models might not have this feature.

You can begin to experience excessive water retention or improper drainage if your washing machine drain hose is clogged.

A blocked drain hose won’t let water drain properly, leading to a backflow and even cause your clothes to retain excess water.

In other words, your kenmore washer won’t spin clothes dry if all these are occuring. A clogged drain pump also contributes to this issue.

If the pump filter of your washer is blocked with lints or the pump is broken, it’ll definitely obstruct the flow of dirty water and as a results end up affecting the proper spinning of the machine.

What you need to do?

You need to troubleshoot the drainage system by checking and inspecting both the drain hose and drain pump.

Inspect the drain hose: Ensure that you’ve unplugged the washing machine first. Now, remove the drain hose which is located at the back of your washer.

Check if there are any blockages or clogs inside, clean and reattach.

Additionally, if the hose is also kinked, you need to straighten it out in order to allow proper water flow.

Inspect the drain pump and filter: Get rid of any lint or debris that might be clogging the filter then replace the drain pump if it’s broken.

The drive belt actually control and determines the entire spinning of your washing machine.

If it gets loose or damaged, you will begin to experience problems like preventing the motor from turning the drum, the washer not spinning clothes dry and many more.

What you need to do?

It’s time to replace the drive belt so you can fix the problem. In order to replace the drive belt on your kenmore washer, here’s what you are required to do below:

  • First and foremost, unplug your washer or disconnect from switch. Also shut off the water supply.
  • Remove the access panel on the back of the washing machine.
  • Now, locate the belt and remove it from the pulleys.
  • Next, install a new drive belt by threading it through the pulleys before plugging your washer back.

Most of the time, your washer always begins to malfunction when a component or two becomes faulty.

For instance, a motor coupling and water inlet valve are two very vital components that transfers power from the motor to the agitator and controls the flow of water into the machine respectively.

If any of these components gets damaged, it could lead to spinning problems which is why we recommend inspecting them if your kenmore washer won’t spin clothes dry.

Use a multimeter to test the continuity, if no continuity is detected, you should replace the components as soon as possible.

You can decide to troubleshoot the washing machine via diagnosis if you are yet to figure out the root of the problem. Follow the procedures below to activate the diagnostic mode on your kenmore washer.

  1. Ensure that the appliance is in standby mode which simply means that there should be no indicators illuminating at the moment.
  1. Choose any three button to press on the control panel except the “Power” and “Start/Stop” button.
  1. For instance, you can choose to press the “Wash Temp”, “Soil Level” and “Spin Speed” buttons.
  1. Now, press and hold these three buttons simultaneously for three seconds before releasing them.
  1. Next, immediately press those three buttons again & hold for another three seconds. Then, release the buttons.

All indicators should be illuminated and that’s how to activate the diagnostic mode

If your kenmore series 500 washing machine isn’t spinning as it should, you need to inspect the clutch assembly to see if it’s damaged or not.

Reduce the amount of detergents you are using in the washer, check for a loose drive belt before replacing. Remove loads that are too heavy in the washer and only set the correct spin settings.

Kenmore 110 series washer models also do get affected by not spinning-dry problems, what you need to do is check if the lid motor coupling is broken, inspect if the drain pump hose or filter is kinked or clogged.

Other areas to inspect are the transmission, to check if it’s malfunctioning or has seized up. Ensure that the loads in the washer are perfectly balanced and should not be too much.

Checking for a clogged drain pump, broken washer belt and suspension springs are also important.

Your kenmore 80 series washer is not spinning clothes dry because the suspension springs or shock absorbers are worn out, there are unbalanced loads in the washer, too much detergents, damaged drive belt and incorrect spinning settings.

Below are some fixes to carry out it your kenmore elite washer won’t spin clothes dry:

Use appropriate spin settings, check for debris and clogs in the drain hose or and filter.

Fix or replace the lid switch if it’s broken, avoid excessive use of detergents and only use the recommended type.

Additionally, check if there are too much loads in the washing machine then reduce it to the minimal.

In order for your kenmore front load washer to start spinning-dry perfectly, you need to ensure that there’s a limited amount of recommended detergents in the drum.

Check for any foreign objects blockages, drain hose should be free from clogs and debris in addition to the drain filter.

If none of the above fixes work, then you need to divert your attention to the control panel.

If the control panel seems damaged or faulty, you might definitely want to find a replacement.

Kenmore top load washing machines usually experience spinning issues because their lid switch is not functioning properly which obviously needs replacement.

Inspect the drive belt and motor coupling for any damages, also check the agitator and the clutch if it’s broken.

We honestly hope you were able to fix your kenmore washer that refuses to spin dry properly with the help of our extensive guide above.

Stuck items or presence of heavy foreign objects might lead to an abnormal functioning of your whirlpool washer.

In situations like this, all you have to do is check if there are any stuck materials in the drum or around, then remove them.

In addition to this, you should remove any heavy items in the washer and put them in a different space.

You should wash these items one at a time as they’re so huge and should not be washed together in order to avoid getting your washing machine off balance while spinning.

One of the reasons why your Whirlpool washing machine is off balance or out of balance during is due to appliances not being leveled.

whirlpool washers have 4 leveling feet with rubber anti-vibration pads placed underneath. The feet are expected to stay firm in order to work efficiently.

If any of these legs gets uneven or the rubber anti-vibration pads have come loose, it could cause your washing machine to be off balance.

Nevertheless, Begin to loosen the lockings by turning the legs clockwise and then adjust with a wrench or by hand.

  • To fix a whirlpool washer out of balance issue, you need to inspect and adjust the legs of the washer and ensure it’s not tipping forward and backwards.
  • Check the flooring condition by ensuring it’s in good condition as it shouldn’t be cracked or waterlogged. If the flooring is moldy, repair the flooring or consider changing the area of the washer to a different location.

If there are excess unbalanced loads in your whirlpool washer, it could cause the appliance to tilt to and fro as it gets out of balance.

In order to fix this an unbalanced whirlpool washer, ensure that you put only the correct amount of loads in the washer which is proportional to the drum size.

Remove excess loads and follow the instructions in your manual. It’s recommended that you leave a little bit of space between the loads in order to allow free flow of water.

Shock absorbers are among the components that participate in the balance of a whirlpool washer. It goes between the outer tub and the base frame. If it’s worn out or damaged, it could be another reason why your washer might be unbalanced.

In order to fix a broken or faulty shock absorber, you need to dismantle the washing machine and take out the shock absorber.

You might need the help of a specialist to remove the back panel, dismantle the appliance and replace the shock absorber. Irrespective of that – do note that all this needs is a replacement.

It’s really possible for the shaft of your washer to get corroded if it keeps getting in contact with water or detergent. A slight damage can result in the washer not getting balanced during a cycle.

The method to fix this issue is to replace the motor shaft with a new one. Once it’s replaced, your washing machine should stop spinning off balance.

The drum bearings play a very important role in supporting the rotation and spinning of your washing machine. Drum bearings usually wear out if water continuously seeps through the seals around the metal bearings.

  • For whirlpool front loaders, the drum bearings are located at the rear of the outer tub while top-loading whirlpool washers have their bearings attached to the inner tub.
  • In order to replace a damaged bearing, what you need to do is take apart the washing machine and replace the worn out bearings.

A whirlpool washing suspension rod does not get damaged easily as they usually last for a minimum of 4 years. The rods act as a support for the washer tub and prevent it from being unstable and unbalanced.

Sometimes it does get damaged and worn out with time and this could be a reason why your washer is getting out of balance.

To fix this, you need to locate the suspension rods by removing the top and front panels. Inspect if the suspension rods are damaged before replacing.
